Hi,
Stan
Nelson brought out a great solar scope today at the Roswell Museum's annual
Art Block Party. There were many people who came by to take a look at the
sun and all of its flares. What a beautiful day for the event! Then, this
evening, four members of the Roswell Astronomy Club met at our official Star
Party site at the end of Twisted Flower Rd. this evening. A couple of
families joined us at the event as well. Billy Jack wins the prize (a
cookie at the next meeting
)
for staying out the longest.
I want
to remind you of our next Roswell Astronomy Club meeting which is held this
Thursday, October 14 at 7:00 at the Roswell Adult Center. The Boys Scouts
will be joining us for this meeting to gain information for their Astronomy
Club merit badge. We should see these boys at the next star party. The
next Moon Gaze will be held on Saturday, October 16 at 5:30 at Cielo
Grande. I hope many of you can participate in that event.
I am
very excited that so many people are interested in the Roswell Astronomy
Club and its many events. I hope you can come to all of them. If any
of you are interested in becoming an official member of the Roswell
Astronomy Club, the membership dues are $10 for the year for the whole
family. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me or call me at
420-9955. Check out the official website as well -
www.roswellastronomyclub.com. Stan Nelson is constantly updating it.
Thank you Stan!
